Wendell Bernard Jackson, born September 7, 1971, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, son, brother, proud veteran, and a man whose presence brought warmth and light wherever he went.
Bernard served his country honorably for 21 years in the United States Army, retiring with distinction as a Captain. Following his military career, he continued his life of service and leadership through a 10-year career with Walmart, where he was known for mentoring others and leading with integrity, compassion, and strength.
He was a man with a personality larger than life. His smile could light up any room, and he had a natural gift for uplifting and encouraging others to become the best version of themselves. Bernard treasured time with family and friends and especially loved traveling the world and creating lasting memories with those he loved most.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Chrissy L. Jackson; their six wonderful children - daughters Aaleyah J. Jackson and Emma G. Jackson of Hershey, Arielle B. Mcmillian-Zinnerman of Cleveland; sons Quinton B. Jackson (spouse Gia) of Atlanta, Prentice D. Kimble of Birmingham, and Cameron V. Burton of Anniston; and their 6 cherished grandchildren Adyn, Mariah, Makaylah, Armani, Kahmali, and Premier.
He is also survived by his loving mother, Emma L. Jackson; his brother Arthur L. Jackson Jr. (spouse Artimease); his sisters Jovita A. Jones (spouse Richard) and Audrey L. Jackson-Noel (spouse Pete); his mother-in-law Anita J. Brightwell; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and brothers and sisters in arms.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur L. Jackson.
