Vito Antonio Macri “Tony”– loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend - passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at the age of 93 years.

Vito was born to the late Giuseppe and Caterina (Iozzo) Macri in Steelton, Pennsylvania on January 22, 1931 the seventh of seven children. Vito graduated from Harrisburg Catholic High School in 1949 where he met his wife of 72 years, Philomena.

After High School Vito attended Villanova University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree. Following graduation in 1953, Vito began his 30+ year career with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

Vito is survived by his wife Philomena (Verrecchio) Macri and their 4 children Catherine Waddington (William), Linda Reese, Joseph Macri (Dolores), Christine Cosentino (Arturo), 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Through the years Vito and Philomena enjoyed gathering with family, friends and traveling around the world by air and cruise ship.

A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 AM on Thursday January 16, 2025 at Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 S. Harrisburg St. Oberlin PA, with Rev. James Lease officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with Services following. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
