Virgie M. (Stickle) Sandy, 67, of Middletown, passed away at UPMC- Community Osteopathic Hospital on Friday, October 13, 2023. Born in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late Fred, Jr. and Mary (Wagner) Stickle. She was the loving wife of the late Charles E. Sandy, Sr., who passed in 2018.

Virgie was known as a very social person who enjoyed working as a retail clerk because it gave her a chance to chat with customers and anyone who came into the store. Over the years, she worked for Souder’s, Zeek’s, and Peoples Drug Store. She also loved Bingo and cooking.

Virgie is survived by her children Terra (Steve) Moyer, Shawn (Kathy) Stickle, and Daniel (Nicole) Sandy; as well as 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Charles E. Sandy, Jr.; brother, Fred Stickle, III; and sister, Irene Zuna.
