Timothy Francis Doyle, 64, of Harrisburg, unexpectedly passed away at home on his birthday, June 21, 2026, a day after celebrating his grandson, Konnor Geppert’s 1st birthday. He was surrounded by his loving family, wife of 36 years, Michele (Hicklin) Doyle; daughter, Tonya Geppert (Kyle); and son, Timothy Doyle Jr. (Mimai). Tim was a wonderful role model and hero to his children, and he was Michele’s best friend, and the love of her life. Ditto.
In addition, Tim is survived by his younger twin brothers, Terrence F. Doyle and Todd F. Doyle. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas F. Doyle Jr. and Margaret (Gould) Doyle, and his older brother, Thomas F. Doyle III.
After graduating in Electronic Technology from Dauphin County Vocational/Technical School, Class of 1980, Tim went on to serve our country in the United States Marine Corps as an Aircraft Electrical Systems Technician, honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1984. He forged an unbreakable brotherhood with his fellow Marines, notably Dave Roche, Mike Balthaser, and Byron Roubanes.
Tim built an illustrious 36 year career at Pennsylvania Power and Light (PPL), retiring as the Electrician/Supervisor of the East Shore (Harrisburg/Hershey). He was highly respected for his vast knowledge, strong leadership, and extensive experience. His coworkers became his extended family, forming bonds that went beyond his retirement in 2020. He continued to utilize and develop his many skills and was never idle, as he kept busy with do-it-yourself projects, and would drop everything to help others. He could fix just about anything.
Tim could make people smile and laugh out loud with his wit and humor. He was an avid sportsman, lifelong Notre Dame fan, and Hershey Bears season ticket holder. He loved to spend time at his beach house near Bethany Beach, Delaware; and fishing, clamming, and crabbing in his boats on the Indian River Bay with family and many friends. He also loved hunting at his lifelong friend/brother, “little buddy” John Zervanos’s cabin. He deserved a joyful life and those who knew him were blessed to be in it.
Tim was of the Catholic faith and a member of Holy Name of Jesus Church. A traditional funeral mass will be held on July 2nd at 11 a.m. at Holy Name, 6150 Allentown Blvd, Harrisburg, PA. Friends will be received one hour prior to service. Interment will take place at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 60 Indiantown Gap Road, Annville, PA.
In lieu of flowers, please take time to lend a helping hand to a friend or neighbor, just like Tim.
