Stephen M. Blasko, 77, son of the late Mary (Balish) and Stephen J. Blasko, was born in Coaldale, PA in June of 1948 and passed peacefully on Christmas night, December 25, 2025.

Steve was a Marine veteran of the Vietnam War and went on to join the Harrisburg Police Department where the last 16 years he was a detective in the Vice Division under Lt. John Goshert. After retiring, Steve went to work for the US Marshal Service under former PA State Senator Mike Regan as a court security guard for the last 10 years.

Steve was a faithful member of the 5th Ward Republican Men’s Club of Steelton where he had many great friends.

Steve leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Janie (Patterson) Blasko; her daughter Christine Kissel (Bill) and granddaughter Kayla Kissel. He is also survived by his sister Mary Catherine Moles of Margate, NJ and her children Francine Cocchia, Lynn Mora, Matthew Moles, and Paul Moles.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church, 1300 Bridge Street, New Cumberland, PA 17070, with Rev. Jonathan Sawicki, Pastor, celebrating. There will be no viewing or visitation. Burial is private and at the convenience of the family.
