Rosemary E. (Ward) Wiest, 73, of Steelton, PA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Feb 2, 2025. Born in Harrisburg on February 26, 1951 and raised on Steelton’s West Side, she was the daughter of the late John and Ethel (Funk) Ward. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Franklin Wiest, and daughter Sheila Manning.

Rosemary is survived by and will be dearly missed by her loving daughter Kimberly Manning; grandchildren Angella and husband Wyatt Hoover, Mary Manning and partner Tyler Glaser, Ashley and husband Seth Burger, and Johnathan Manning; great grandchildren Hailey and Remi Hoover, and Josie Burger; as well as many nieces and nephews. 

She worked at Eat’n Park restaurant for over 10 years as a waitress. She liked to watch her soapboxes, craft and crochet, hem and sew clothing, drink her cokes, play card games with her late sister Sis (Louise), to cook, and most important to her— she loved spending time with her family. 

Rosemary was a giver. She would always do anything she could for anyone and never expected anything in return. She never had much, but she did the best job she could with the life that she was living and had the love to make up for it. 

Rosemary was a person whose presence touched our hearts in ways that words can scarcely describe. Whether through a quiet gesture or a heartfelt conversation, she made everyone feel seen, heard, and valued.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Wiedeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 357 S Harrisburg Street, in Oberlin. Burial will follow at Shoops Cemetery. A Viewing will take place in the funeral home prior to services on Thursday from 9:30 AM-10:30 AM.
