Robert Boyd Wendt, 81, of Harrisburg, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday, February 12, 2026. Born in Sunbury, PA on October 16, 1944, he was the son of the late Paul and Clara (Sanders) Wendt. He was the loving husband of the late Olga “Renie” (Yandric) Wendt, who passed away in 2016. 

Robert served his country in the US Navy as a Seabee during the Vietnam War. He worked for Bethlehem Steel until his retirement. He coached baseball for Penn Gardens and Paxton Athletic Association for many years. He enjoyed watching baseball and football as well as classic TV shows like The Andy Griffith Show, The Three Stooges and Clint Eastwoood movies. He loved all animals, sitting on his front porch, going fishing, and playing cornhole. Most of all, he was a devoted family man and loved spending time with his Granddaughters. He was a loving father and grandfather who will be deeply missed. 

Robert is survived by his son, Jason Boyd Wendt; his granddaughters Meagan Wendt (Griffin Wingenroth), Myerlee Wendt Krushinsky (Cameron), and Masyn Wendt (Foster Nicolette); and his brother, Gary P Wendt. 

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, February 23, 2026 at Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 S Harrisburg St, Oberlin, PA 17113. Burial with full military honors will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A Viewing will be held at the funeral home prior to service from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM.
