Robert Allen "Bob" Hoffman

Robert Allen “Bob” Hoffman, 77, of Palmyra, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Penn State Hershey Medical Center following a 9-year battle with Thymic Carcinoma. Born in Harrisburg on December 20, 1947, he was the son of the late Frederick and Mildred (Dupes) Hoffman. He was the devoted husband of Kendra (Vanatta) Hoffman, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.

Bob served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He then returned to work for Bethlehem Steel, then the State Department of Labor and Industry until his retirement. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. He coached midget, teener, and twilight baseball, as well as slow pitch soft ball. He was inducted into the Middletown Athletic Hall of Fame in October of 2024.

In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his children Eric Hoffman (Heather), Jeffrey Hoffman (Kelly), Justin Hoffman (Shelli), Ashley Hoffman, and Julie Ibberson who was like a daughter to him; grandchildren Julia, Natalie, Jeffrey, Jr., Maddie, Dylan, and Shelby; great-grandchildren Kayden, MycKenna, Jordyn, Wesley, and Shaeleigh; and his brother Richard Hoffman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson Seth and his sister Carol.

A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 in Centenary United Methodist Church, 1010 Orchard Drive, Steelton, PA 17113. Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery in Palmyra. A viewing will be held in the church prior to service from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Palmyra Public Library, 50 Landings Drive, Ste B, Annville, PA 17003.
