Richard L. Slabonik, 70, of Highspire, formerly of Steelton, passed away at home on Thursday, August 20, 2026.

Born in Steelton on December 20, 1955, he was the son of the late James J. Slabonik, Sr. and Mary “Eleanor” (Bair) Slabonik. He was also preceded in death by his brother, James J. Slabonik, Jr.

Richard was a graduate of Milton Hershey School, Class of 1973, where he proudly played on the football and wrestling teams. Following graduation, he worked for Bethlehem Steel Corporation for many years before retiring.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Jill Manlove, and her husband, Justin; his grandson, Vaughn Manlove; and his siblings, Cheryl Slabonik, Michael Slabonik, and Steven Slabonik and his wife, Anna. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Wiedeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 357 S. Harrisburg St., Oberlin, Pa. 17113. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
