Peter W. Panza, 96, of Paxtang passed away on Friday November 19, 2021.

He was born in Steelton on September 11, 1925, son of the late Michael and Angeline Bianco Panza.

Peter was a retired E-6, Petty Officer First Class with the U.S. Navy proudly serving during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam with 24 years of service. Peter retired as a Quality Control Engineer for United Engineers of Philadelphia. He was a member of the former St. Ann''s Roman Catholic Church, Steelton, and a current member of St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church. Peter was a member of the Steelton Italian Club, former President of Capital City Lodge #272 Sons of Italy, American Legion Post #998, Lawnton, Robert Burns Lodge #464 FandAM, Harrisburg Consistory, Zembo Temple,Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Lions Club of Paxtang, former Mayor of Paxtang for 8 years, a 50-year member of the Silver Wings Fraternity, and a former member of the Pennsylvania State Mayors Association.

Peter was the widower of Virginia S. Beard Panza, and is survived by two daughters; Nora A. Stone (Terry), of Florence SC, and Maryann Masker of Scranton PA; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; one brother, Michael Butch Panza, of Mechanicsburg; three sisters Fortuna Dolly Kostelac of Shiremanstown, Mary T. "Tootsie" Wright (Clarence, JR) of Lower Paxton Twp., Louise T. "Lou" Jordan (Roy), of Steelton.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Peter was predeceased by his son Michael Panza; brother James N. Panza; sister-in-law Anna Panza; and niece Louise Panza Feldser.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday December 2, 2021 at 11:00 am in St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church, 4000 Derry St., Swatara Twp., with Rev. James B. Lease, as celebrant. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 357 South Harrisburg St. Oberlin. Burial with military honors will be held in Paxtang Cemetery.
