Nicholas A. "Nick" Lane

Nicholas A. “Nick” Lane, 71, of Steelton, passed away at home on Friday, July 11, 2025. Born in Hamilton, Bermuda, he was the son of the late James H. and Mary Jane (Diritto) Lane. He was the loving husband of Barbara (Slingland) Lane, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.

Nick worked as an Electrician for Bethlehem Steel in Steelton. He loved music and played guitar- his favorites being his Martin 6 String Acoustic, Gibson Les Paul, and his Fender Stratocaster. He also loved Harley Davidson Motorcycles, and watching NASCAR and the Las Vegas Raiders. Most of all, he was a loving husband, father, and brother who will be missed by all.

In addition to his wife, Nick is survived by his son, Nicholas A. Lane, II; his brothers Richard Lane, John Lane and his wife Sheron, and Joe Lane and his wife Carol; his cousin Glenn Diritto and his wife Kay, with whom he had a very close relationship; as well as many other cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Wiedeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 357 S Harrisburg Street, Oberlin, PA 17113. Burial will follow at Middletown Cemetery. A Visitation will be held in the funeral home prior to service from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Steelton Community Cats at 1 N Front Street, Steelton, PA 17113.
