Natalie Ann (Szekeres) Bortz

Natalie Ann (Szekeres) Bortz, 75, of Harrisburg, passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at UPMC Community Osteopathic Hospital. Born in Harrisburg on January 27, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Joseph G. Szekeres, Sr. and Helen E. (Reynolds) Szekeres. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Richard P. Szekeres and sister, Mary Zuvich.

Natalie graduated from Steelton-Highspire High School with the class of 1968. She worked for the PA Turnpike Commission for 35 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Highspire Boating Club. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafts- especially pottery and crochet. She loved shopping, gardening, and trips to the beach. Most of all, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister who will be missed by all.

Natalie is survived by her loving son, John Bortz and his wife Ashley; step granddaughter, Alex Heath; siblings Joseph Szekeres, Jr. and his wife Suzanne, Frank Szekeres and his wife Peggy, H. Elaine Weideman, Eileen Moore and her husband Donald, Jo-Ellen Szekeres and her partner Robert Reider, Harry Szekeres and his wife Mary Ann; and Bonnie Brackbill and her husband Robert; her beloved grand dog, Coco; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family would like to offer their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated ICU staff at UPMC Community Osteopathic for their care and compassion.

A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 16, 2025 in Wiedeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 357 S Harrisburg Street, Oberlin, PA 17113. A Viewing will be held in the funeral home prior to service from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org
