Nancy E. Coates, 80, of Steelton, died Thursday October 30, 2025 in her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was a retired Credit Analyst for Mellon Bank, a member of the Middletown Moose and the Lawnton American Legion.

Nancy enjoyed going to casinos, VIP bus trips, going out to dinner, reading books, taking care of her house plants, knitting and making dish rags for friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Madeline (Bohner) Wertz; brother, Russell Wertz; granddaughter, Hannah and great grandson, Brantly. She was the widow of Glenn Coates, who died in 1998. She is survived by two daughters, Tracy Ecenrode (Will) and Deborah Weigan (Paul); one son, Michael Dooty, Jr. (Leslie); 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one sister, Doris Harman (Jim); two brothers, Richard Wertz (Wanda) and Donald Wertz; and her companion, Barry (Shark) Kelley.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 12:00 pm in Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 357 S. Harrisburg St., Oberlin. A viewing will be held on Saturday from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm in the funeral home.
