Obituary

Nancy (Blatt) Spizzirri, 95, of Steelton, passed away at home surrounded by family on Friday, January 30, 2026. Born in Middletown on May 20, 1930, she was the daughter of the late John Blatt and Barbara Blatt Heicher. She was the loving wife of the late Eugene “Trapper” Spizzirri, with whom she shared 73 years of marriage until his passing in 2025. She was also preceded in death by one nephew, Tommy Blatt.

Nancy graduated from Middletown High School with the class of 1949. She was a Member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish and the Steelton Italian Club. She enjoyed fishing and camping with her husband, and doting on her Brittany Spaniels. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed.

Nancy is survived by her 3 daughters, Carol Muretic (Joseph), Sandra Grunden (Terry), and Donna Livering (Melvin); 6 grandchildren, Joseph, Matt, Stephen, Bryan, Erin, and Taylor; 9 great-grandchildren, Aiden, Leah, Milania, Bryce, Harper, Brady, Stella, Joey, and Cillian; nephews, Joseph Mavrin, Norman Blatt, and Kenneth Blatt; and nieces, Monica Reider and Diane Jacob.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM on Friday, February 6, 2026 at Prince of Peace Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 815 S 2nd Street, Steelton, PA 17113. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. A Viewing will be held prior to mass from 10:00 AM-11:30 AM at Wiedeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 357 S Harrisburg St, Oberlin, PA 17113. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Central PA at www.hospiceofcentralpa.org
