Mary Elizabeth Padjen

Mary Elizabeth (Baker) Padjen, 90, of Bethlehem, passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2025 in hospice care at Lehigh Valley Hospital. Born in Steelton on April 3, 1935, she was the youngest daughter of the late Earl and Mary Elizabeth Baker. She was the loving wife of the late George Padjen, with whom she shared 60 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2016.

Mary graduated from Steelton High School with the class of 1953. She worked for Bell Telephone and Bethlehem Steel Corporation before devoting her time to raising her family. She was a dedicated swimmer at Lehigh University’s pool and enjoyed travel and days at the casinos. Most of all, she was a loving mother and grandmother who will be missed by all.

Mary is survived by her daughters Ann Padjen (W. Eyre Price), Susan Padjen (David Putelo) and Mary Boschen (Kyle Boschen); her granddaughters Anna Rose, Audrey and Elizabeth Putelo; sister-in-law Patsy Padjen; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her four siblings.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the staff at Country Meadows of Allentown and the staff at Lehigh Valley Hospital for the incredible dedication and care they provided Mary over the past eight years.
