Mary L. (Basonic) Martin, 77, of Steelton, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2026 at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. Born in Harrisburg on January 19, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Sara Louise (Moore) Gluntz. She was also preceded in death by her stepfather William Gluntz.

Mary was a member of the former St. James Roman Catholic parish and later Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and glass sculptures. She was known for always helping those in need. Most important to her was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who will be deeply missed.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Hector Martin; her sons Dennis Michael Basonic and his wife Christina, and Jose Juan Martin; her grandchildren Dennis Michael Basonic, Jr., Connor Rocco Basonic and his wife Alika Kravhenko, and Anthony Michael Martin.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 19, 2026 at Prince of Peace Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 815 S 2nd St, Steelton, PA 17113. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. A Visitation will be held in the church prior to service from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org
