Josephine Rimpfel

Josephine A. Caracciolo Rimpfel, 83, of Harrisburg, died on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 in UPMC Community Osteopathic Hospital

She was a 1956 graduate of Altoona High School and a 1959 graduate of Harrisburg Hospital School of Nursing.

Josephine was a retired Nurse Surveyor for the PA Department of Health and had worked as a nurse at Harrisburg Hospital for many years. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, Steelton and enjoyed playing Mahjong with friends.

She was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Anna Marie Porzio Caracciolo and was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald and John, and her sister, Mary Lou. Josephine was the widow of Rudolph R. "Ronnie" Rimpfel whom she was married to for 52 years when he passed and is survived by her older sister, Antoinette "Nettie" Miller; younger brother, Paul Caracciolo (Denise); sister-in-law, Nancy Caracciolo; goddaughter, Nicole Gearhart, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 14, 2022 at 11:00 am in Prince of Peace - Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 815 South Second Street, Steelton. There will be no viewing or visitation. Burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Wiedeman Funeral Home Cremation Services, Inc., Oberlin is handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Prince of Peace Parish or Humane Society of Greater Harrisburg, 7790 Grayson Rd. Harrisburg PA 17111.
