Joanne E. (Belsak) Sosnowski

Joanne E. (Belsak) Sosnowski, 70, of Steelton, passed away at home on Friday, September 19, 2025, with family by her side. Born in Harrisburg on December 5, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Wanda (Slusher) Belsak.

Joanne was a 1972 graduate of Steelton Highspire High School and 1974 graduate of HACC. She worked for 46 years at the County of Dauphin IT Department and was very proud of her work and her coworkers there. She loved all animals both wild and domestic and took care of many stray cats.

Joanne was married to the late Fred Steven Sosnowski, who passed away in 1987. She is survived by her only daughter, Kirsten Brennan and her husband Mike; her sisters Catherine Zales , and Jacqueline Carpenter and her husband Greg; her niece Jocelyn Lashley and her husband Justin; and nephews Jeremiah Carpenter and his wife Nicole, Jonathan Carpenter and his wife Allison, and John-Paul Zales; great nieces and nephews Evey, Ruby, Addy, Eloise, Elliott, Rhys; and her stepmother Vilma Belsak; as well as Jeff and Lynda Wright, Jessica and Evan, Elara, and Sylas Lockary.

Joanne appreciated a sunny day, coffee in the morning, her computer, and TV OnDemand. She did not want to go, but God had other plans.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 25, 2025 in Wiedeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 357 S Harrisburg Street, Oberlin, PA 17113. Burial will follow in Churchville Cemetery. A Visitation will take place in the funeral home prior to services from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM.
