Obituary

James W. Seese, 87, of Hershey, died on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at Country Meadows Hershey. Born in Pittsburgh on March 28, 1939, he was the son of the late Lester W. and Ethel C. (Flanagan) Seese. He was the loving husband of the late Carol A. (Ruppert) Seese, with whom he shared 35 years of marriage until her passing in 2020.

James was raised in Chambersburg and graduated from Chambersburg High School, then went on to study at Drexel University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree. He worked for IBM and then Harrisburg Hospital, where he was Vice President of Information Systems. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Roman Catholic Church.

James is survived by his daughters Stephanie Wise and her husband Mike, and Lisa Johnson; daughter-in-law Julie Clouse; and his grandchildren Nicholas and Riley; as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 22, 2026 at St. Maragaret Mary Alacoque Roman Catholic Church, 2800 Paxton Church Rd, Harrisburg, PA  17110 with Rev. Leo Goodman, Pastor, celebrating. A Viewing will be held in the church prior to mass from 9:00 AM-10:00 AM. Burial is private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Penn State Health Children’s Miracle Network at Mail Code HS21, PO Box 852, Hershey, PA 17033.
