James G. Cassatt, 62, of Middletown, passed away peacefully at his home on April 19, 2026. Born on June 1, 1963, he was the beloved son of the late James and Jacqueline Cassatt of the West Side of Steelton.

James is survived by his devoted companion of 11 years, Kathy Shover; his daughter, Meggan Schorn; his son, Matthew Cassatt; his brother, Michael Cassatt (Timothy Hess); his sister, Lori Henry (Bob Cahall); three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was a proud and loving partner, brother, and friend, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A skilled carpenter by trade, James took great pride in his work and was well known for his craftsmanship, strong work ethic, and willingness to help others. Outside of work, he embraced life’s simple pleasures. He loved camping trips, spending time outdoors, and creating lasting memories with family and friends. An avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, James rarely missed a chance to cheer on his team.

James was a member of St. Lawrence CFU Lodge No. 13 of Steelton; La Société des Quarante Hommes et Huit Chevaux (40 & 8), Voiture 269 of Chambers Hill; and the Middletown Moose Lodge No. 410, Loyal Order of Moose.

James will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and love of life’s simple joys. His presence brought comfort and laughter to those around him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
