Irene B. (Tudic) Smith, 93, of Harrisburg, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at Homeland Center. Born in Harrisburg on December 4, 2026, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Maljan) Tudic. She was the loving wife of the late Harry G. Smith who preceded her in death in 2015. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Pauline Wilsbach and Vera Sugar; and her son-in-law, Joseph Rubinic.
Irene worked as a Secretary for the Diocese of Harrisburg and was a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, where she sung in the choir. She graduated from Steelton High Spire High School with the class of 1950, where she was a majorette. She enjoyed going to the beach and playing cards with her friends. She was a loving mother who will be deeply missed.
Irene is survived by her sons, Harry T. Smith, Ronald M. Smith, and Dennis R. Smith.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Prince of Peace Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 815 S 2nd Street, Steelton, PA 17113, with Rev. Matthew R. Larlick, Pastor, celebrating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. A Viewing will be held prior to mass on Wednesday from 9:30 AM-10:30 AM at Wiedeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 357 S Harrisburg Street, Oberlin, PA 17113. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Homeland Hospice at 2300 Vartan Way, Ste 270, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
