Frank J. Simonic, III, affectionately known as Fudge by his loved ones, passed away peacefully of natural causes on November 17, 2024. Fudge was born on May 1, 1968, in San Diego, CA, where his father was stationed in the U.S. Navy. He passed away in San Francisco, CA, his adopted home for the last 25 years.
Fudge was a 1986 graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School, where he was a standout soccer player and record-setting kicker for the football team. He attended Gannon University where he continued his soccer career. Fudge had a deep love for the Grateful Dead, whose music was the soundtrack to his life. Known for his upbeat humor and love for everyone, he brought laughter wherever he went. A true free spirit, Fudge lived life on his own terms, leaving behind a legacy of indelible memories and countless humorous stories.
Fudge joins his beloved mother, Mary Frances (Cibort) Simonic, and brother, Jacob G. Simonic, in eternal rest. He is survived by his father, Frank J. Simonic, Jr., and his stepmother, Karen; his sister, Amber Venesevich, her husband, Brian, and their children, Jenna, Helen and Matthew; his stepsister Lisa Stettler, and her husband, Charlie; and his niece, Francesca Simonic.
Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date, per the wishes of his family. Arrangements by Wiedeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc.
