Elizabeth M. (Count) Strangarity, 87, of Arden Courts and formerly of Steelton, died Friday, October 4, 2024 in Arden Courts, Susquehanna Twp.

She was a member of the former St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, Steelton and a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, Steelton, where she served on the Parish Council, the Liturgy Committee and was a Eucharistic Minister and Lector.

Betty was the daughter of the late Peter and Anne (Gales) Count and the widow of Robert J. Strangarity. She is survived by her brother, Joseph A. Count of North Augusta, SC; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

She loved the outdoors, gardening, fossil hunting, and the cottage along the Juniata River. She was a season ticket fan of the Hershey Bears for many, many years.

She retired from the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation's Employee Benefits Dept. as their Benefits Coordinator. She was also Vice President-Secretary on the Board of the Retired Employees of the Bethlehem Steel Coalition (REBCO).

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 11, 2024 at 11:00 am in Prince of Peace-Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 815 So. Second St., Steelton with Rev. Dennis G. Dalessandro as Celebrant. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 am to 10:30 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 357 So. Harrisburg St., Oberlin.
