Elaine Louise Walch Singer, 88, passed away with her loved ones nearby at the Bob Fryer and Family Hospice Center in Mt. Joy.

Elaine was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Robert and Marie Walch; and brother, Donald. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 63 years, Robert Singer; daughter Amy Singer Foltz (Gregg, husband); grandsons Connor Leiby, Ryan Foltz (Erica, wife); sister Estelle Myers; nephews Scott Miller and Paul Miller; and grand-dog Bruno.

A Wilkes-Barre native of McLean Street, Elaine was a 1955 Hanover High School Graduate. She earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education and Piano from Misericordia University in 1959. She started teaching elementary music to students in the Baltimore Area before returning to teach music closer to home in the West Pittston area. A member of Baptist Tabernacle in Wilkes-Barre, she served for many decades as the choir director and organist. Her roles there also included Sunday School teacher and heading up Vacation Bible School for a number of years. Her creativity followed her to the Osterhout Free Library where she was a children’s librarian. Elaine treasured the library kids sharing her love of reading, crafts and children’s literature.

Elaine’s most relished role, however, was that of Granny- always giving, guiding, and supporting. Karate lessons, swimming lessons, baseball games, marching band events, concerts, music lessons, trips to Philadelphia, Williamsport, NYC, State College and Florida- wherever her grandson was, Granny wanted to be.

Our dear lovely Elaine, wife, mother, sister, aunt, granny, neighbor, and friend will be missed but remembered and cherished forever. Until we meet again, dear one, Memory Eternal!

Elaine’s family would like to thank her many caregivers at Hospice of Central PA, the loving nurses and aides at Arden Courts, and Sarah’s Home Care, especially Veda.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Baptist Tabernacle, Wilkes-Barre, PA on Saturday, November 21, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Visitation from 10:30 AM-11:00 AM.
