Edwin Ortiz, 90, of Steelton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 13,2026 at Hershey Medical Center. Born in Utuado, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Nicanor and Pauline (Monroig) Ortiz. He was also preceded in death by one son, Roland “Gibby” Ortiz, Sr.

Edwin was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Harrisburg. He loved baseball and was a big Atlanta Braves fan. He made many friends in his various online communities. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed.

Edwin is survived by his children Berney Ortiz, Sr., and Edwin “Junior” Ortiz; grandchildren Stephanie, Heather, Berney, Jr., Vanessa, and Roland, Jr.; as well as many great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 21, 2026 at Wiedeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 357 S Harrisburg St, Oberlin, PA 17113. Burial will follow at Highspire Cemetery. A Viewing will take place in the funeral home prior to service from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM.
