Daniel Kreischer, 85, died Tuesday August 9, 2022 in Penn State - Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Wilhelm Kreischer and Helena (Harfmann) Kreischer of Yugoslavia. Daniel married Katharina Kunz October 3, 1959, soon after moving to this country. He retired from Capital Area Transit as a mechanic with 39 years of service. For many years he was an avid woodcarver making bears with a chainsaw and also carving benches. His works are in many locations in Pennsylvania and surrounding areas.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Katharina (Kunz) Kreischer; his brother, Wilhelm Kreischer, Germany; sisters Elisabeth Gottel, Ella Paulsen, and Hermina Koch, all of Germany; granddaughter Samantha and husband Nathaniel Hatfield, Lompoc, CA; daughter-in-law, Jane S. (Frank) Kreischer, Harrisburg. He is preceded in death by his son Daniel P. Kreischer who died in 2014, brothers Frank and Heinrich Kreischer.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday August 18, 2022 at 11:00AM in Evangelical Lutheran Church of Our Saviour, 420 North Progress Ave. Harrisburg, with the Rev. Joel Petruschke Officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:30- 11:00 am. Following the service burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Wiedeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., Oberlin.
