Daniel Leo "Peach" Fuhrman peacefully entered heaven on July 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 20, 1944, in Harrisburg, PA, Dan was a proud graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School (Class of 1962) and a member of Saint Catherine Laboure Parish, previous parishes include Holy Name and St. James.
Dan had a gift for brightening every room he entered. Even during his final days, his warmth and positivity uplifted those around him—so much so that hospital staff often remarked on his infectious energy and light. His love for life was surpassed only by his love for his family.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Dan shared his passion for skiing with his children, their friends, and later his grandchildren, creating cherished memories on the slopes. He was an enthusiastic supporter of Notre Dame football and could often be found coaching his son’s Linglestown baseball and basketball teams, or cheering proudly at his daughter’s cheerleading competitions. In his later years, when he wasn’t skiing, you’d likely find him on the golf course, enjoying the outdoors and good company.
In 1974, Dan married the love of his life, Helen McGarrity. Together, they celebrated 51 beautiful years of marriage. He was the beloved son of the late William and Gertrude Fuhrman of Steelton, PA.
Dan is survived by his wife, Helen Fuhrman; his son, Daniel Fuhrman; his daughter, Colleen (Joe) Formica; and his grandchildren, Danny and Hannah Formica. He is also survived by his siblings: William (Diane) Fuhrman, Jack (Linda) Fuhrman, Sister Mary Ellen Fuhrman, Peggy Anne (Thomas) Acri, Marie (Chris) Fuhrman, Patrick Fuhrman, and Rita (Steve) Mull, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 11, 2025 in Saint Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry Street, Harrisburg, PA 17111 with Rev. Timothy Sahd and Rev. James Lease con-celebrating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitations will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 South Harrisburg St., Oberlin, PA 17113, and again on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Saint Catherine Laboure Church.
Dan’s legacy of love, laughter, and light will continue to shine brightly in all who knew him. A message from Dan to his family and friends, “I came, I loved, I left.”
