Christine R. Amadure DeFilippo

Christine R. Amadure DeFilippo, of Middletown and formerly of Steelton, died Thursday, August 28, 2025, in the Middletown Home.

Christine was employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Human Relations Commission as a Secretary and after retirement, she was the welcoming face behind the counter at Turkey Hill in Steelton. She was a member of the former St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church and member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, Steelton and the Steelton Italian Club.

She was the daughter of the late Peter Amadure and Gilda Belmont Amadure and was preceded in death by her husband Alfred E. DeFilippo. Christine is survived by her daughter, Maryann DeFilippo Jones & husband John, Swatara Twp; two granddaughters, Amanda and Victoria Jones, both at home; her brother Peter Amadure, Carlisle; niece Christine Ameduri and husband Greg Pecoraro and nephew Anthony (Tony) Amadure & wife Melanie, Carlisle; and twin great-nieces Charlie Katherine and Alice Patricia Amadure and numerous extended family members.

Christine could always be found in the kitchen, preparing homemade authentic Italian dishes, made entirely from scratch and with love. Sunday dinners and holidays surrounded by her loving family brought her the most happiness. She also enjoyed visiting Atlantic City and visiting Resorts Casino. She carried a special devotion to the Blessed Mother, and her faith was deep.

Mass of Christian Burial will be con-celebrated on Friday, September 5, 2025 at 10:30 am in Prince of Peace – Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 815 South Second Street, Steelton with the Rev. Matthew Larlick, Pastor, Principal Celebrant and Rev. Robert Yohe & Rev. Timothy Sahd as Concelebrants. Burial at the conclusion of Mass will be alongside her husband in Holy Cross Cemetery, Swatara Twp. There will be no viewing or visitation. Arrangements by Wiedeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Oberlin.
