Obituary

Brian K. Banks, 65, of Rutherford, passed away at home on April 29, 2026 after a courageous fight with cancer.

Brian was a good, kind man who was loved by many and had a heart of gold. He was most happy hunting in the woods, going to various hunting camps, and having a beer with friends. He loved his family foremost and was a true friend to many people. He leaves all with fond memories and will be truly missed.

Brian was a member of VFW 1213, Rutherford where he worked as a bartender; and the Mechanicsburg Men’s Club.

Brian is survived by his daughter Ashley Peifer and her husband Will; his beloved grandchildren Nick, Raela, and Olivia; his mother Shirley Banks; his stepfather Keith Williams; his sisters Stephanie Shiley and Tina Reddinger; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his loving life partner and best friend Deborah Miller and her daughter Jennifer Miller and son Cory Miller. He was preceded in death by his brother Stephen Banks and father Leroy Banks.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Wiedeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 357 S Harrisburg St., Oberlin, PA 17113. A Visitation will take place prior to service from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM. Jeans and casual attire are welcome because that was Brian at his most comfortable.
