Obituary

Albert Edward Cox, 68, of Steelton, passed away at home on Friday, April 3, 2026. Born in Harrisburg on September 14, 1957, he was the son of the late Katharine (Frischkorn) Cox.

Albert was well known in the Central PA music community. He played bass guitar for several years and was a member of Silver City in the 1970’s-1980’s. He was a recording engineer and sound engineer for many artists in the area. In his spare time, he loved repairing and restoring guitars. He also loved repairing and riding motorcycles and worked for several shops before his retirement. He also played hockey in his youth.

Albert is survived by his loving girlfriend, Inessa Alper; his dear friend Rich Vandevender and his wife Donna, who were like family to him; his brothers from Silver City - Brian Harter, Randy Harter, and Jim Johansen; as well as a large circle of friends and the larger Central PA music community.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Wiedeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 357 S Harrisburg St, Oberlin, PA 17113. A Visitation will be held in the funeral home prior to service from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association at American Diabetes Association.
