Robert M. Nicotera, 76, of Mechanicsburg, died Wednesday, January 18, 2012 in Holy Spirit Hospital.
He was a retired Engineer for PA Dept. of Transportation and a consultant for JMT Inc., York. He was a graduate of Steelton High School and Penn State University, a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Mechanicsburg, and the Penn State Alumni Assn.
Bobby was born in Steelton, son of the late Joseph and Angeline Lewis Nicotera and is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Roberta M. “Bobbie” Matsko Nicotera; four daughters, Andrea E. Lyden and her husband, Timothy of Dillsburg, Leslie A. Nicotera of Baltimore, Lisa M. Reisteter and her husband, Daniel of Mechanicsburg, and Bobbi Jo Nicotera of Baltimore; one brother, Ernest Nicotera and one sister, Mary Ann Nicotera, both of Steelton; and two grandsons, Patrick and Corey Lyden. Bobby was preceded in death by three sisters, Claire Pease, Josephine Leo and Frances “Toots” Lapano.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 23, 2012 at 11:00 am in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 400 E. Simpson St., Mechanicsburg with Rev. Chester P. Snyder, his Pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Mechanicsburg. A viewing will be held on Sunday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm in Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 S. Second St., Steelton. Recitation of the rosary at 7:30 pm.
