In Loving Memory....

Joseph Philip Doud III, 71, of Oberlin, died Monday, December 12, 2011 in Neighborhood Hospice, West Chester.


He was a retired employee of Blindness and Visual Services Dept. of the Commonwealth of PA and a member of St. Catherine Laboure Roman Catholic Church, Swatara Twp.


Jay was the son of the late Joseph P. Doud II and Eleanor Bolger Doud and the beloved widower of Rose M. Putric.  He is survived by three daughters, Patricia M. Doud and Vinson Clavette of Collegeville, Jacqueline M. Johnson and husband, Kenneth of West Chester, and Alicia M. Johnson and husband, Steve of Downington; his stepmother, Dolores Doud of Harrisburg; his former wife, R. Marie Traxler of Trooper; a close friend, Arlene MacMillan of Mechanicsburg; one brother, C. Dennis Doud of Harrisburg; one sister, Mary Theresa Ellis and husband, Malcolm of Bar Harbor, Maine; nine grandchildren, Erica, Britta and Julia Quigley, Olivia Varney, Tyler, Justin and Christopher Johnson, Zach and Paige Johnson.  Jay was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Doud.


Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 11:00 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 S. Second St., Steelton with Rev. Msgr. Hugh A. Overbaugh, officiating.  A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 until 11:00 am in the funeral home.  


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Neighborhood Hospice, 400 E. Marshall St., West Chester, PA 19380.
