In Loving Memory....

Mary M. Vasco Benkovic, 84, of Frey Village Retirement Center, Middletown and formerly of Steelton, died Sunday, June 10, 2012 in Community General Osteopathic Hospital.


She was a retired employee of the PA Dept. of Revenue and a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, Steelton.


Mary was the daughter of the late Anthony Vasco, Sr. and Eleanor Vasco and the widow of Joseph M. “Mummy” Benkovic.  She was preceded in death by two sons, Joseph Matthew Benkovic and Michael Joseph Benkovic and two brothers, John and Anthony Vasco, Jr.  


She is survived by two grandchildren, Kristin Marie Benkovic and Michael Joseph Benkovic II; one great grandson, Jonah Michael Stoddart; one sister, Anna E. Gunnett; a daughter-in-law, Susan K. Benkovic; and several nieces and nephews.  


Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 11:00 am in Prince of Peace-Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, 815 S. Second St., Steelton with Rev. Msgr. James M. Lyons, her Pastor, as celebrant.  Burial will be in Highspire Cemetery.  A viewing will be held on Thursday from 9:30 am until 10:30 am in Wiedeman
