In Loving Memory....

Carl C. Benko, 90, of Highspire, died Sunday, January 22, 2012 in Spring Creek Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Swatara Twp.


He was a retired Machinist for Bethlehem Steel Corp. and AMP, Inc., Harrisburg and a US Navy Veteran of World War II.  He was a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, Steelton, a life member of Highspire VFW Post #8638, and Highspire Boating Club.


He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Elizabeth J. “Julie” Kaytor Benko; two sons, Robert L. Benko and his wife, Bonita of La Jara, NM and Gregory A. Benko and his wife, Sherry of Highspire; twin sisters, Irene Cini of Hershey and Helen Foltz of Oberlin; five grandchildren, Lee, Julie, Jennifer, Adriane and Dane; and one great granddaughter, Charlotte Holmes.  Carl was preceded in death by his son, Douglas Benko.


Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 11:00 am in Prince of Peace-Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. James M. Lyons, his Pastor, as celebrant. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.  A viewing will be held on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 S. Second St., Steelton.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, 815 S. Second St., Steelton, PA 17113.
