Leroy “Sugar” Tepsich, 79, of Steelton, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2010 at the MS Hershey Medical Center. He was the son of Serbian immigrants, Rade and Anna (Skaric) Tepsich. He cherished his family and is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janie (Koscevic) Tepsich, four children, Leroy, Jr, wife Martha, Leann (Tepsich) Cox, husband Tim, Lenny Tepsich, wife Tina, and Lori (Tepsich) Good, husband Loren. “Dadoo” is survived by his grandchildren, Janelle and husband Justin, Krista, Tori, Nina, LT, Alana, Nicole, Marshall , and great grandchildren, Ashton, Gabriel, and Jonas. Born and raised in Steelton (West Side), he graduated from Steelton High School “That Dear ole Blue & White”, class of ‘48. He lettered in football, basketball and track. He was captain of the 1948 Mile Relay Team at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia . Suggey was a lifelong member of St. Nicholas Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church in Steelton and served as superintendent of the Sunday School and served on the Church Board for over 30 years. He was a member and past president of the SNF Lodge 37. He so loved his church. Sug served 3 years in the US Coast Guard during the Korean War. He was past president of the Steelton Kiwanis Club. He coached the Steelton Police midget baseball team and the Steelton Lions midget basketball team. He was also a former official and umpire for PIAA football and baseball. He retired from Penn National Insurance. He was the Harrisburg Regional Claims Mgr, Mid-Atlantic Regional Claims Mgr, and Home Office Director of the liability division. He was past chairman of Intercompany Arbitration, and member of the PA Loss Research Bureau. He served on the Board of Directors of Cocoa Associates. Sugar touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He was a humble man who was extremely proud of his Serbian Heritage and his Steelton roots. He loved tamburitza music and was honorary president of the “Sviraj” fan club. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 11:00 am in St. Nicholas Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church with Very Rev. Stavrofor Srboljub Jockovich, his Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Churchville Cemetery , Oberlin. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:00 until 11:00 am in his church. There will be no viewing. Arrangements are being handled by Wiedeman Funeral Home, Steelton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Nicholas Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church, 601 So. Harrisburg St . , Oberlin, Steelton , PA 17113 .
