Mary C. Sviben, 60, of Steelton, died Tuesday, March 23, 2010 in University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia .

She was a retired employee of the PA Dept. of Transportation and a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, Steelton and the AFSCME Council No. 13.

Mary was the daughter of the late John J. “Red” Sviben, Sr. and Delores M. Dively Sviben and is survived by three sons, David J. Sviben, Frederick A. Sviben and his wife, Denise, and Jose G. Cruz, all of Steelton; one brother, John J. Sviben, Jr. of Steelton; four grandchildren, Jason, Madison, Tanner and Lyndsey. She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph J. Sviben and a daughter, Stacie D. Sviben.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 29, 2010 at 11:00 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 So. Second St . , Steelton with Rev. Msgr. James M. Lyons officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery . A viewing will be held on Monday from 9:30 am until 11:00 am in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
