George Pacenza, 85, of 109 South Franklin Street , Susquehanna Twp., died Monday, March 8, 2010 in his home. He was a retired operating room technician at Harrisburg Hospital and a Roman Catholic. George was an intelligent, articulate and considerate man. He earned his own way through this life and will be missed by all who got to know him. He is survived by one sister, Nora Hook of Highspire; two nieces, Diana Fink and her husband, Barry and Susan A. Smeal and her husband, Wayne; one nephew, Thomas Hook and his wife, Carol; and his devoted caregiver and friend, Lee Barnhard. Graveside services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family at Holy Cross Cemetery with Rev. Msgr. James M. Lyons, officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Wiedeman Funeral Home, Steelton. George's extended family would like to thank the staff of Asera Care Hospice, Lee Barnhard and Dr. Brian D'Eramo for all their care and concern for George. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of Bishop McDevitt High School, 2200 Market St . , Harrisburg , PA 17103 .
