Carlos J. Muniz, Sr. was born in Puerto Rico on June 6, 1931 and passed to his heavenly home on Sunday, March 21, 2010. After several strokes, Carlos was cared for at home by his loving wife, Joyce E. Muniz.

Besides his wife, Carlos will be sadly missed by sons, Carlos J. Muniz, Jr. of Lancaster, Victor Muniz of Harrisburg, William Muniz of Mechanicsburg, and Carlos Koser of York Haven; stepsons, Scott Stoner and Troy Stoner, both of Harrisburg; daughters, Sara Muniz, Mary Torres, Debra Muniz and Carla Mae Koser, all of Harrisburg; brother, Inocencio Muniz and Filiberto Rosado, both of Florida and Ramon Muniz of Puerto Rico; sisters, Mercedes Muniz and Guadalupe Muniz, both of Harrisburg, Isabelle Muniz of Chicago and Nati Muniz of Puerto Rico; plus 32 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. Carlos was preceded in death by his brother, Guillermo Muniz and sister, Carmen Muniz.

Carlos came from Puerto Rico in 1953. He worked as a Supervisor for John B. Peters in Adams County for over 30 years. He was the owner of La Espanola Bar and Restaurant in Harrisburg , and owned and rehabilitated over 20 rental properties, all in the city of Harrisburg . He was active in the Spanish community, providing employment, and in 1980, he sponsored a Spanish baseball team through the Spanish Community Center . Carlos loved yard and garden work and he is now planting flowers and pruning trees in Heaven.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 26, 2010 at 11:00 am in Fackler-Wiedeman Funeral Home, 23 rd & Derry Streets, Harrisburg with Pastor Al Palmateer

officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens , Lower Paxton Twp. A viewing will be held in the funeral home on Friday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.
