Catherine Mrljak Furjanic, 95, of Frey Village Retirement Center , Middletown and formerly of Bressler, died Sunday, January 24, 2010 in Harrisburg Hospital .

She was a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, Steelton; National Council of Catholic Woman; Holy Rosary Society and the 50+ Club.

Catherine was the daughter of the late Janko and Catherine Ribarich Mrljak and the widow of Joseph T. Furjanic and is survived by one son, Richard Furjanic & wife Stephanie, Hummelstown; five daughters, Katherine Schmalhofer & husband Ed, Lebanon, Josephine Miller & husband Kenneth, Huntsville, Alabama, Marie Furjanic, Hummelstown, Cecelia Long & husband Robert, Mechanicsburg and Frances Furjanic & partner James Kendall, Chambers Hill; two sisters, Barbara Zapcic, Enhaut and Mary Lescanec, Oberlin; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in Prince of Peace – Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, with Rev. Msgr. James M. Lyons, Pastor, Celebrant. Burial in Churchville Cemetery , Oberlin. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. in the Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 South Second Street, Steelton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish, 815 South Second Street, Steelton , PA 17113 .
