Helena Dopko


Helena Dopko, 97, the widow of Vincent J., died at ManorCare of Camp Hill, Pa., on Saturday, January 9, 2010. She was the fourth of nine children of Urko and Katerina Pokrinchak of Fairmont Springs , Pa. and a lifelong resident of Plymouth , Pa.

She was currently a member of St. Nicholas Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church, Oberlin , Pa. Mrs. Dopko is survived by her brother, Vassil Pokrinchak , Connecticut , her son, Vinkentee Dopko and wife, Anita, Lewisberry and two grandchildren.

She was very active in Ukrainian church activities and charities during her life. She had great pride and love for her two grandchildren , Zoryanna, currently a doctoral student in Applied Mathematics at Cornell University and Dmytro, a December 2009 graduate of Bloomsburg University with BS and MS degrees in Exercise Science.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at 10:30 AM in the St. Nicholas Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church, 601 S. Harrisburg St., Oberlin, with the Very Rev. Stavrofor Srboljub Jockovich, officiating. Burial in Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church Cemetery , Plymouth , PA. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM in the church. Arrangements by Wiedeman Funeral Home, Steelton , PA.
