Eli L. Cibort


Eli L. Cibort, 94, of Bressler, died Wednesday, June 16, 2010 in his home.

He was a retired steelworker for Bethlehem Steel Corp. with 42 years of service, a member of Prince of Peace Roman Catholic Parish and the former St. Mary's Croatian Roman Catholic Church. He was the oldest living member of Friendship Fire Co., Bressler, charter member of the Tri-County Boat Club, inducted into the Tamburitzan Assn. of America in 1999, former Swatara Twp. Commissioner and a member of St. Lawrence Lodge No. 13 Croatian Fraternal Union, Steelton Tambura Lovers, former member of St. Mary's 50+ Club and St. Lawrence Adult Tamburitzans.

He was the widower of Anna C. Ritrievi Cibort and is survived by two sons, Joseph M. Cibort and his wife, Frances L. of Bressler and James M. Cibort and his wife, Susan A. of Oberlin; one daughter, Joanne M. Dee-D Cibort of Bressler; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Eli was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Emeric Cibort.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 11:30 am in Prince of Peace-Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Raymond P. LaVoie as celebrant. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery . A viewing will be held on Saturday from 9:00 until 11:00 am in Wiedeman Funeral Home, 357 S. Second St . , Steelton.
